Plastic scrapes is an unwanted by-product of the plastic moulding industry, and a socially responsible company like SONFUAT cannot ignore environmental issues. Encouraged by good support from its many customers, in 1997 SONFUAT’s management made a strategic decision to set up P&R RECYCLING to handle plastic scrapes, such as sprues and runners of plastic parts. This venture is a reflection of SONFUAT’s commitment to protecting the environment.

Currently three repalletizing machines are in operation at P&R RECYCLING, converting plastic scrapes to pallet forms according to their various classifications. P&R RECYCLING operates from a remote plant located about 1.5km from the main SONFUAT plant. Its operation is being handled efficiently by a small but committed workforce of 8 staff. Over the past 9 years, P&R RECYCLING has gradually seen consistent growth and success

The recycled plastic material manufactured by P&R RECYCLING is not only sold to local customers, but is also exported to China and Hong Kong. This includes ABS, PPT, PC, PS, etc. The company continues to seek new customers, locally and abroad, as it charts its next phase of development over the next decade of its operation.

This kind of business may not be at the forefront of the plastic moulding industry,. It may not be such a visible and impressive industry, but it is nevertheless a noble and rewarding endeavour, because it helps to reinforce the fact that there is a need for all of us, both producers and consumers, to care for our precious environment. In this respect, P&R RECYCLING continues to be very much a part of the SONFUAT group of companies, as it makes the group very complete.
